Sectional 15: the Highlanders’ road runs through Seymour

The postseason has a shape. The IHSAA has placed Floyd Central in Class 3A Sectional 15, hosted by Seymour, with the tournament running Tuesday, October 6 through Saturday, October 10. Six teams, three sessions, and a single winner moving on to the regional.

The field: Floyd Central, Jeffersonville, Jennings County, New Albany, Seymour and Silver Creek — a sectional full of familiar faces. Four teams play Tuesday night; Seymour and Silver Creek start in Thursday’s semifinals.

The bracket is set. Floyd Central opens against Jeffersonville on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 PM, following Jennings County and New Albany at 5:00 PM. The two winners meet in Thursday’s first semifinal at 5:00 PM, with Seymour and Silver Creek in the second at 7:00 PM. The sectional championship is Saturday, October 10 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are digital only through Eventlink — $8 per session or $20 for an all-session pass, with children five and under free. There are no cash sales at the gate. Seymour High School is at 1350 West 2nd Street in Seymour, about 50 minutes up I-65; the soccer complex sits on the west side of campus, and sectional nights draw a crowd, so leave time to park.
